Practice nurses Act is a set of State laws that govern specific aspects of the nursing profession. Laws are generally grouped with a chapter of the laws of the State, called the overall nursing Act into practice "the law". The Act aims to protect the public from a dangerous nurse, guaranteeing minimum levels of performance.
Legislatures of individual States "determine the facts of content, what"law"may differ slightly from one State to the other. However,
many acts address common issues, such as the setting up of the
composition and the scope of the authority of the Board of nursing; the definition of the practice of professional practice, the nursing profession and nursing practice advanced; establish the conditions required to obtain a nursing license; limit the use of the title "nurse" and the list of grounds for discipline against nurse license.
Individual
boards of nursing States may exercise a great convention of the
influence on the right, but not the author "the Act", as they are the
administrative body responsible to apply and interpret "the law" in the
context of the authority which issued the legislature.
A nurse must be knowledgeable of their legal obligations regarding "the law". In
addition, "the law" allowed that a registered nurse to request the
written opinion of the advice on interpreting "laws", that the nurse can
be considered to evaluate legal options.
On the other hand, all laws governing the practice of nursing are not in "the Act" or "regulations. Common
to several health care professionals permitted legal obligations apply
to nurses, such as confidentiality requirements or mandatory reporting
of suspected abuse cases, but these obligations are generally found
outside 'the law '.
Most public libraries have a copy of the books of State laws that should have a copy of each of the individual States act. However,
be sure to obtain a copy of the latest version and check the latest
changes that may not be included in the format that you use. Each nurse would not have an updated copy daily "the Act", available for reference.
Regulations are usually published in a collection known as the administrative code. They should also be available from the same sources. Some
of the written opinions of the Commission can be a public folder, so it
is possible to offer the offices of joints a call to determine if these
documents and how to get them.
